The tradition of making pocket treats, pies and sandwiches over fire and charcoal is not unique to North America. Countries around the world have their own version of a Pie Iron along with their own localized favorite fillings. In Australia, Indonesia & South Africa pie irons are commonly called Jaffle Irons and are usually shorter in length. Our jaffles measure 22" long which makes for easier use over a BBQ or gas stove. The rods/handles also unscrew for storage and cleaning.
